2006 Prize Money Bridge only at Bridge University Sites

Larry King, President of Prize Money Bridge, stated, “We averaged 400% more participants per event at the Bridge University than we did at a typical regional this past year. "

" For 2006 we plan to stage Bridge Universities in Atlantic City in April; West Virginia in early June and in Las Vegas, NV twice - - in July and December. At each University there will be two 2-session Prize Money Bridge Tournaments for a total of eight tournaments in 2006. The Bonus Pool will be revamped too, according to King.“

"The entry fees will be raised and lowered for 2006,” stated King. “We found that reducing the entry fees did not increase interest in 2005. For 2006 Open players will pay $20 per session; Stratified players will pay $10 per session; and 299ers will pay $5 per session.” According to King, first prize in the overalls would have a minimum guarantee as follows at all 8 Prize Money Bridge Tour events: 1st. $400 in the Open; 1st $100 in the Stratified; and 1st in the 299 will bring a minimum of $50. Like this year, payoffs will be based on the number of tables in the competition, one payoff place for each table. The Bonus Pool for 2006 has not been determined, but it will still have a minimum of four sessions to qualify, but the pool will be geared to the number of total participants.”

Prize Money Bridge events held in conjunction with the Bridge University are held in the evening after the Bridge University has adjourned. King stated, “We plan to hold pair games for those University students who prefer pairs to the individual run by Prize Money Bridge. Pair games allow the students to apply the lessons of the University to their partnership.”
